Patr. and liturgical composer. He was born in Ḥadl of Yūḥannā of the Habbo Kanni family of Barṭelle . He became a monk at the Monastery of Mor Gabriel , was consecrated a Maph. and named Baselius in 1404, and then a patr. for the see of Mardin on June 1412. After the death of the Ṭur ʿAbdin anti-patr. Baselius V, he managed to unite all the dioceses under his authority in 1445. He composed ten ḥusoye, an Anaphora, and 11 poems. He also compiled selections from the commentary of Daniel of Salaḥ and arranged them with the texts of the Psalms in an autograph ms. dated 1425 (ms. Jerusalem, St. Mark 14).
