He was born in Bidār near Zakho, and joined the Seminary of St. John in Mosul in 1900. He was ordained a priest in 1912. He lived in Syria most of his life, but returned to Iraq a few years before 1974.
他出生于扎胡 (Zakho) 附近的比达尔 (Bidār),1900 年加入摩苏尔 (Mosul) 的圣约翰神学院 (Seminary of St. John)。1912 年被祝圣为司铎。他大半生居住在叙利亚 (Syria),但在 1974 年前几年返回了伊拉克 (Iraq)。
He wrote a grammar entitled Mhadyānā d-eskulāye ‘Guide for students’ (Mosul, 1923). He composed many poems, only a few of which were published (India, 1957). A few of his articles, written in Syriac, were published by the Iraqi Academy under the title Selected articles & poems by Rev. Paulus Bidary (Baghdad, 1977).
