He was born in Barṭelle , studied at Sharfeh from 1906, and then at the Syriac Catholic Seminary in Jerusalem . In 1914 he returned to Mosul , and was ordained a priest in 1919. He taught at the Seminary of St. John in Mosul, then at Sharfeh from 1937. He then served in Baghdad . In addition to his other writings, he composed in Syriac a number of poems (a few published according to Abūna).
他生于巴尔特莱 (Barṭelle),1906 年起在沙尔费赫 (Sharfeh) 学习,随后在耶路撒冷 (Jerusalem) 的叙利亚天主教神学院 (Syriac Catholic Seminary) 就读。1914 年他返回摩苏尔 (Mosul),1919 年被祝圣为司铎 (priest)。他曾在摩苏尔 (Mosul) 的圣约翰神学院 (Seminary of St. John) 任教,之后从 1937 年起在沙尔费赫 (Sharfeh) 任教。此后他在巴格达 (Baghdad) 任职。除其他著作外,他还用叙利亚语 (Syriac) 创作了多首诗歌(据阿卜纳 (Abūna) 称,其中少数已出版)。
